La Linea Outbound Day 2

Hi everyone,
We are currently in position 34 34N 010 24W sailing under single-reefed main and single-furled yankee.  We're doing about 5.5 knots in a 13G18 NE wind and a nice, regular 1.5m sea.  It's sunny but cool.  Air temperature is 17C and water temperature 22C.  Our second 24 hour run was 139nm and we currently have 307nm to go.

Chasing the Sunset

Yesterday afternoon we continued sailing a course of about 240M, trying to stay south of the rhumb line to Porto Santo. The NE wind is expected to diminish so being further south should give us a better sailing angle in lighter winds.

Our buddies on Matusadona are now about 20nm north of us.  They're doing very well considering they're quite new to sailing.  Unfortunately ReVision II has been slowed by damage on board and they're about 15nm behind us.

The wind stayed in the NNE to NE and over 20 knots all afternoon and overnight.  We had gusts up into the high 20s.  Zen Again was comfortably reefed down and took it in her stride.  We were surfing on swells at 8 knots at times.

Around dawn the wind started to decrease.  We shook out one reef and are having a great sail with the seas steadily abating.  There are more trades-winds-like Cumulus clouds about today.  We're not in the trades yet (they'll be much warmer) but they feel closer.

Trust all's well where you are.
