Tyrrel Bay to Port Louis

Hi everyone,

We had a pleasant 6 hour, 30nm passage from Tyrrel Bay on Carriacou to Port Louis Marina on the main island of Grenada.  Winds were light so we were happy to sail for nearly half the time.  We motored out of the lee of Carriacou and through the lee of Grenada.

West of Rondo Island just north of Grenada is the underwater volcano with the interesting name "Kick 'em Jenny".  There's an exclusion zone around it which all vessels must avoid.

Sadly it was a cloudy day with little sunshine so the photos aren't great.  At least we only copped one brief shower.

We called Port Louis Marina on VHF ch 14 and they provided docking instructions.  Two dock-masters took our lines.  A quick trip to the marina office sorted out the paperwork and a walk nearby found the bar & restaurant, pool and facilities.

It was good to find Aussie sv Ari on the same jetty as us.  Chris joined us for a ride and a beer later in the afternoon.

We spent the rest of the afternoon visiting Island Water World and Budget Marine to collect gear we'd ordered several weeks ago.  We have a significant boat project about to commence.  More on that in due course!

Trust all's well where you are!
