Pulpit Harbor to Seal Bay

Hi everyone,

We had a great sail today with SSW winds varying from 2G3 to 15G19.  The 12nm passage took 4 hours, all in bright sunshine and all sailing.  The motor was only on to exit the Harbor and enter the Bay.  At last we're amongst the spectacular Maine islands.

Pulpit Harbor is famous for its views of the sunset over the Camden Hills.  Last night the clouds cleared and we got a nice one.

As the track shows, we gybed our way along the N coast of North Haven Island, then tacked S along the coast of North Haven and Vinalhaven Islands.  It was great to have a good sail in such a spectacular setting.

Entering Seal Bay

We arrived at Seal Bay two hours short of high tide.  Maine is famous for its rocky shoreline and off-lying shoals.  So we motored up the inlet carefully.  Avoiding the bricks is always a good idea.

In Rockland we met Ginny and Rob of US sv Rhapsody.  They accompanied us to Pulpit Hbr and onward here to Seal Bay.  Looking forward to visiting them this evening.

US sv Rhapsody Arriving

We'll be staying here in Seal Bay for at least a couple of nights.  Looking forward to exploring the Bay by dinghy.  We've already seen one seal.  It's certainly a spectacular place.

Trust all's well where you are.
