Jamaica Arrival

Hi everyone,

We arrived at Errol Flynn Marina in Port Antonio, Jamaica at 1430 today.  We had a very pleasant last day's sail in this 6 day, 800 nm passage.  Our noon to noon run for the last day was 129nm.

Ready for arrival and clearing in

Last night the winds were ESE at 8 to 11 knots, gusting to 16.  We had one reef in the main all night, only shaking it out at 0900 this morning.  In the wee small hours we had a passenger - a bird rode our Starlink dishy until dawn.  In the early morning we zigged around the Morant Keys SE of Jamaica.  They were the only hazard on our approach.

Today was spent under full sail.  Sailing along the NE coast of Jamaica was interesting.  A lot of cloud over the mountains which reach 7000' in height.

The entrance to Port Antonio is simple and well marked.  Errol Flynn Marina is in West Harbour which is very well protected.  The marina is quite small but everyone seems friendly and helpful.  We're currently part-way through clearing-in.

Our next post will be an overall summary of the passage.
