Panama Inbound Day 2

Hi everyone,
At noon today we were at 13 32N 074 17W steering 230M, sailing under 2 reefs and 1 furls at 5.5 knots.  The wind was 17G21 from the ENE.  Our noon to noon distance over the ground was 149nm.  Distance to go was 393nm.  Less than a Fremantle-Albany!

Dawn Watch

Another day, another increased daily run.  Won't last!  We had strong positive current for most of the last 24 hours.  Then in the small hours of the morning it disappeared, but only for 3 hours or so.  It gradually returned but again we're now heading out of it.  So we'll be gybing to the NW to get back into the current and to avoid strong winds and counter-current off and beyond the Cape.

Last night we had three birds along for the ride.  Two noddies and another unidentified one.  All three were on the goalpost (stern arch).  Each chose a corner and defended it against the others.  Quite a bit of squawking for a while until a truce was declared.  Again, they flew off at dawn.

We're eating well on this passage...

Lunch!

This morning we had a good chat with OCC sv White Malkin.  They came within 10nm of us.  They may stop in the San Blas with us.  Sadly Let's Go has moved on but hopefully we'll catch them along the coast.

Trust all's well where you are.
