Sint Maarten Outbound Day 3

Hi everyone,
At noon today we were at 15 220N 068 09W steering 245M, sailing under 2 reefs and 1 furl at 5 knots.  The wind was 16G20 from the E.  Our noon to noon distance over the ground was 123nm.  Distance to go was 764nm.

Prosecco Sailing

Conditions have remained quite stable with only minor changes in wind speed and direction.  We're almost following our route but slowly edging south of it due to the wind direction.  Currently about 45nm off the direct route to our next waypoint N of our destination.  The seas have also moderated which has improved the ride somewhat.  Perhaps prosecco sailing but not yet champagne!

Last night was pleasant with more time to star-gaze as the moon wanes.  Occasionally cargo ships pass by, mostly some miles away.  One passed exactly a mile ahead of us last night - a very large gas carrier who had altered course to clear us.

Our battery state has radically improved following our solar upgrade in Sint Maarten.  Our house bank is now staying above 75% instead of gredually decreasinng by 10% per day.  We could probably run Starlink all day now but are sticking to our two one-hour sessions, morning & afternoon.  We retired our hydro-generator in Sint Maarten.  It was becoming unreliable and fouling from the Sargasso weed in the Caribbean is nearly as bad as in the Atlantic.

Trust all's well where you are.
