British Virgin Islands Outbound Day 2

Hi everyone,
We are currently in position 23 26N 064 50W, saillng at 6.5 knots on a course of 015M. The wind is E at 15-18 knots with a 1m sea and 1m SE swell. We are sailing under single-reefed main and full yankee. Scattered small cumulus with some high cloud above. Our day's run was 154nm, our DMG was 148nm and we have 536nm to go.

It has been a very pleasant 24 hours of champagne sailing. Last night the clouds were widely scattered so we had a beautiful starry sky. For the first time in many years I saw Polaris (the N pole star). In fact much of the night sky is now unfamiliar to us so we're busy relearning the northern constellations. We also saw quite a few shooting stars.

We crossed the Tropic of Cancer just after midnight last night. Who knows when we'll next be in the tropics? Happily the water temperature is 27C and only gradually decreasing. That won't last!

The weather outlook continues to seem pretty good. Still a chance of light winds after the next few days of stronger winds pass. Zen Again is loving these reaching conditions. and so are we!
